Pure Genuine Religion

James 1:26-27 If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. 27 Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
So much on my mind and heart. So many hurting children in the world. It breaks my heart there are so many hurting but what am I doing to change it? That's what I have been struggling with for awhile. I do plan to adopt at some point after I'm married but have been convicted lately that there are so many ways to help that I can do NOW and not wait any longer. As I seek and obey what God is challenging me to do I pray you will seek what He would have you do. There are so many opportunities... 140 million Orphans, 1/2 million children in foster care, 120k waiting for families... how are You going to change those numbers?
There are over 950 Children in TX waiting for adoption and over 600 in FL, http://photolisting.adoption.com/. I heard there are 10 churches for ever 1 child in Foster Care in FL, just think if just half of us stepped up and do what God has called us all to do there would be NO children in foster care!! What an awesome day that would be! Not everyone feels lead to adopt but you can pray for those who are, you can give money so others can or so the orphans who are not yet being adopted can be cared for, or you can care for the children until the are adopted, or helping the Mom's that are putting their babies up for adoption. I am so thankful that my little brother's birth mom decided not to have an abortion, I cant imagine life without him. So much to do, again what are YOU doing?
